Henning Bohn quote

Henning Bohn says he finds his work as a researcher and teacher here "intellectually inspiring." His primary fields of study are fiscal and monetary policy. He is an expert on the Social Security system, and optimistic about its future. Bohn says his research indicates that Social Security will be "viable for many decades, as far ahead as one can reasonably project."

He is equally optimistic about his students, whom he characterizes as "a pleasure to work with." Because the major is a tough oneand business economics is the most popular major on campusstudents must be committed and very focused to do well. Bohn says that the students also teach him. "It is a learning experience for me to address the fresh questions they ask," he says.

Although economics is not a required course for nonmajors, Bohn says it is a good idea for undergraduates to take at least one course in the field. "Economics helps students understand the world of business and government."
