Cynthia Hudley
Associate Professor, Education

Associate professor Cynthia Hudley relies on her own experiences to illustrate her teaching and encourages students in her graduate courses to do the same. A former public school teacher, Hudley refers back to her days in the classroom to help her students develop skills in critical analysis and give them the tools for conducting, reading, understanding, and applying educational research. She teaches courses on children’s social development, ethnic identity development, and achievement motivation.

"I hope my students will gain the ability to think clearly about a broad range of topical issues, particularly those regarding ethnic minority children and their social interactions and how those children fare in school," she says. "Ultimately, I hope my students will care deeply and apply their knowledge to improving outcomes for all children."
