Clegg Professor, Molecular, Cellular, & Developmental Biology |
|
Dennis Clegg, professor of molecular, cellular, and developmental biology, discovered his passion for life science in the forests of Minnesota. Walking amidst the wildlife, he realized that to understand biology, one must also understand the molecules that comprise cells and organisms. That personal discovery led him away from wildlife biology and into the lab, "where you can use the power of current technology to answer questions in biology," he explains. Such research and technology play a major role in his class presentations, which include discussions of the latest developments in research in neurobiology. "I want to convey my excitement to the students to make them see that biology isnt just boring facts but subject matter thats changing every day. It will play an important role in their future." |
